Celtics sign Dillon Mitchell to two-way contract

There were some rumblings that There were some rumblings that Dillon Mitchell might attempt to go back to St. John's to play another season of college ball, but that never made much sense. Mitchell will be 23 in less than two months and playing against teenagers wouldn't be the best for his development. Sure he could make NIL money, but he would also then be one year further behind putting in NBA seasons with its system of paying players more based on years of service in the league.

At some point you have to bet on yourself and make your NBA attempt and Mitchell has done that agreeing to a two-way contract with the Celtics.

As a two-way player, Mitchell will split his time between Boston and Maine.
