Celtics sign Juwan Morgan, fill playoff roster

The Boston Celtics filled their playoff roster on Saturday, signing forward Juwan Morgan to a multi-year contract.

Morgan had just finished a 10-day contract signed with the Celtics on March 28.

Morgan has three seasons of NBA experience playing with the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, and Celtics.

This season, he's played in two games, one for the Raptors and one for the Celtics.

On December 26, Morgan played 27 minutes for Toronto in a 144-99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He shot 2-for-3 from the field, including a three-pointer, adding an assist while bringing down four rebounds.

This season, Morgan's only other action came in Boston's 144-102 blowout of the Washington Wizards on April 3. He played just three minutes and failed to register a point.

In 29 games with the Maine Celtics, Boston's G-League affiliate, Morgan has averaged 12.6 PPG, 6.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks a game.

In 2019, Morgan went undrafted out of Indiana University. During his four years as a Hoosier, his junior and senior years were his best, when he averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game.

Ahead of the 2019-2020 NBA season, he signed an Exhibit 10, guaranteeing a camp invite, with the Jazz. Morgan went on to play in 50 games over two seasons with the Jazz.

Morgan signed with the Celtics in September before being waived in October. The Raptors signed him to a 10-day contract in December before he was brought back again by Boston last month.
