Celtics star has heated online exchange with Nike

It didn’t take long either for Brown to respond to this week’s dis from Nike. On Wednesday, Brown quote-posted it along with the message, “Yall got weird energy.”

The reigning Finals MVP Brown has a history of animosity with the retail giant. Back in 2022, Brown publicly called out Nike over its alleged lack of ethics. Then, after Brown was not selected for the USA Basketball team at this year’s Paris Olympics, Brown suggested that Nike, the longtime sponsor of the Olympic Games, was behind his exclusion from the team.

In fairness to Brown, Nike was probably doing a little bit too much with that petty post about Antetokounmpo’s 59-point game, especially coming from an official brand account with 2.5 million followers. Now that the offseason is finished and the regular season is in full swing, it is clear that there is still some real disdain between Brown and Nike.
