Celtics trying to package first-round picks to trade up in draft?

The Boston Celtics hold three first-round picks in the upcoming NBA Draft. Their best pick is at 14, with the additional two falling at 26 and 30. According to The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor, the team may be trying to package its trio of first-round picks into one earlier pick.

"The Celtics have offered their three first-round picks (Nos. 14, 26, and 30) in trades to try and move up, according to multiple league sources," O'Connor wrote. "So far, no one is biting."

It's fairly unsurprising that Boston is not having much luck finding a trade partner. It's unlikely that most teams would want to pass on a potential superstar in order to grab three guys who are much less likely to be future All-Stars. If they wanted to make a trade, the Celtics would maybe need to add a player to sweeten the deal, with Gordon Hayward the most likely trade piece.

Looking for a team that may have more of a chance of trading up? The New York Knicks, who reportedly "want to make a bigger splash in this draft than the eighth pick might allow," fit the mold. Which player might count as a "bigger splash"? The guy most consistently linked to the Knicks is LaMelo Ball, though several other teams are thought to covet the point guard, including the Golden State Warriors, who hold the second pick in the draft.

The NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
