Celtics waive three, decision pending on Lonnie Walker

The Boston Celtics tip off their season this coming Tuesday night. As they trim their roster they have waived three of their non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contracts in Jay Scrubb, Ron Haprer Jr, and Hason Ward. All three of them are expected to now join the Maine Celtics.

Now comes the tough part as Brad Stevens needs to decide whether to retain Lonnie Walker IV by 5pm on Saturday. While keeping Walker should seem obvious, due to all the Celtics big money contracts, retaining Walker as the 15th man would come with a significant tax bill. Hopefully Celtics ownership gives the green light for Stevens to hold on to Walker.
