Dallas Mavericks are off to a poor start this season.

After their recent defeat to the Houston Rockets on Monday, the Dallas Mavericks have dropped to 2-5. Kyrie Irving is still recovering from an ACL injury and isn’t expected back until January at the earliest.

Anthony Davis is also sidelined with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. He has missed two games in a row and is listed as questionable for their next match. Dereck Lively II remains unavailable as well.

Chandler Parsons criticises Mavericks for Luka Doncic trade

As the season progresses, the Anthony Davis-for-Luka Doncic trade looks worse by the week for Dallas.

Davis has been struggling with injuries, and even when he’s available, he hasn’t come close to matching Doncic’s impact. Meanwhile, Doncic is playing like an MVP candidate in Los Angeles.

There are still plenty of people around the league who can’t believe that Nico Harrison sent Doncic to the Lakers back in February.

Chandler Parsons is one of them. He didn’t hold back on his thoughts about how Dallas handled things:

“Look the other way, the guy just led you to the Finals. “You traded him over bad habits? How about his good habits of 41 and 11 and 8, come on dude.

“It still doesn’t make sense, it’ll never make sense, and I love Anthony Davis, but it doesn’t check out.”

Dallas Mavericks struggling early in the season

The injuries are starting to pile up for the Mavericks and so are the losses. Dallas has not gotten off to a good start, as they try to deal with injuries and the tough schedule at the beginning of the season. So far, it has been too much for them to overcome.

Flagg is having a tough time adjusting to life in the NBA, which was expected for a 19-year-old player. There have not been many bright spots for Dallas so far this season. The biggest bright spot is that they have played just seven games, meaning there is still plenty of time left for them to figure things out.
