Charles Barkley was in rare form during Wednesday night’s broadcast. Barkley turned his attention to the pre-game outfits of NBA stars Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook, delivering a set of quips that left the studio crew in stitches. The segment kicked off with a video of Kyrie Irving arriving at the arena in an impeccably formal black suit, complete with a white shirt and tie.

"That’s how you go to work! Yes, that’s how you go to work right there."

The Dallas Mavericks star looked more like he was heading to a boardroom than warming up for a basketball game. His tone, equal parts admiration and amusement, encapsulated the crew’s reaction to Irving’s dapper style.

However, the highlight of the night came when Barkley shifted his focus to Russell Westbrook’s outfit.

"That’s how you go to bed! That’s how you go to bed right there. Damn."

Known for his bold and unconventional fashion choices, Westbrook arrived in a beanie, a pink sleeveless shirt, matching pants, and a onesie-style ensemble. The contrast between Irving’s formal look and Westbrook’s relaxed fit turned the moment into an instant classic.

Charles Barkley has long been a staple of Inside the NBA, bringing his unfiltered takes and comedic genius to the broadcast. His ability to balance critique with humor is what makes him one of the show’s most beloved personalities. Barkley’s commentary on Irving and Westbrook’s outfits wasn’t just a lighthearted moment—it also highlighted how NBA players have embraced individuality in their pre-game appearances.

Despite the laughter over his pre-game attire, Irving was all business on the court. The Dallas Mavericks guard had a stellar performance, scoring 39 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists. However, his efforts weren’t enough to secure a win, as the Mavericks fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves 105-99. Irving’s sharp shooting, including five made three-pointers, kept Dallas competitive despite the absence of Luka Doncic, who exited the game with a calf injury.

Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook, donning his signature bold style, delivered a solid outing for the Denver Nuggets in their Christmas Day matchup against the Phoenix Suns. Westbrook contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, shooting 6-for-12 from the field. Despite his efforts, the Nuggets fell 110-100 to a shorthanded Suns team led by Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Barkley’s playful jabs at Irving and Westbrook’s fashion choices remind fans of the lighter side of the game. As much as basketball is about competition, moments like these add a layer of fun and personality that keeps the sport engaging.

While Irving and Westbrook’s outfits may have stolen the spotlight for a moment, their performances on the court proved they’re just as bold in their gameplay as they are in their fashion. Barkley’s commentary, however, will live on as another classic moment from Inside the NBA.
