John Jones-USA TODAY Sports

Charles Barkley once revealed that Michael Jordan bet $300K for a single putt while playing golf.

Michael Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player to ever play in the NBA. Jordan's resume certainly supports the claims made by many, as MJ won everything possible in the NBA. But it's not uncommon to see athletes of one sport playing a different sport to clear their heads.

For Michael Jordan, it's playing golf. It's a well-known fact that Mike is a golf aficionado and loves to play golf whenever he gets time. In fact, Jordan once explained how, from a competitive standpoint, golf is the hardest game to play.

Evidently, MJ has pushed his friends and NBA rivals to play golf with him from time to time. So much so that Jordan once took Charles Barkley to play golf at 4:00 AM in the morning after losing a playoff game.

"We'd be playing golf with certain people, for a couple hundred dollars a hole, nothing big, and he'd be playing some guy for $100,000," Barkley said of Jordan. "He's like, 'Charles, pick that up.' I'm like, 'This putt is for $200.' He's like, 'Pick that up, Charles, get out of my way, you're in my line.' I'm like, 'How much is that putt for?' He's like, '$300,000.' I said, 'Let me get out of your line.' It was crazy man."

Michael Jordan is one of the richest athletes of all time, and he has only increased his net worth over the years. Keeping that in mind, in a way, it's not surprising to hear Jordan betting crazy numbers on a single putt. But looking at Chuck's expressions while narrating the story, he was certainly shocked at hearing that number.
