Charles Barkley: joining ‘Inside The NBA' was 'the best decision of my life'
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Former NBA star Charles Barkley has found a lot of success in his post-basketball career. As a featured member of TNT’s “Inside The NBA” show, Barkley has become a fan-favorite, and has grown some lifelong friendships with others on the crew, including Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith.

In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Chuck went so far as to say his decision to join the show was the “best” of his life.

“It’s the best decision I made in my life, Jimmy,” Barkley said. “Working with these guys, it’s so much fun going to work.”

“I mean, number one, getting to watch the best basketball players in the world all the time is pretty special,” Barkley continued. “But to go to work and have fun with those guys…when I took the job, Ernie [Johnson] asked me how long I was going to be there. And I said I was going to be here like three years and I’m gonna move on to bigger and better things. But nothing bigger and better has come along, that’s why I’m stuck there.”

Indeed, it’s got to a pretty sweet gig for Barkley. He gets paid to talk basketball and have fun with his friends in from of the camera. And while he often gets criticized for his hot and outlandish takes, nobody can deny the humor and insight he brings to the show.

No doubt, there will be plenty of moments to look forward to from this guy in the months and years ahead.
