The NBA world was buzzing Tuesday night after a postgame incident following the Indiana Pacers' thrilling 119-118 overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks, sealed by a game-winning layup from Tyrese Haliburton.
As the Pacers celebrated advancing to the second round, Haliburton’s father was seen stepping onto the court and appearing to mock Giannis Antetokounmpo. Giannis then followed him back to the sideline, where the two had to be separated after a heated exchange.
Though Haliburton's dad later apologized on social media and Antetokounmpo confirmed they’re "in a good place," the moment sparked plenty of strong opinions. While Shaquille O’Neal appeared unbothered by the incident, Charles Barkley strongly disagreed and didn’t hold back during TNT's postgame show.
"He's not supposed to be on the court," Barkley said. "You can't do that... his dad was 100% wrong. His dad is not supposed to be on the court. He's an idiot, if you think that's right, you're an idiot too."
He continued, "That dad is an idiot... he should not be on the court talking to other players. He shouldn't be on the court, he didn't play in the game."

After the game, Tyrese Haliburton made it clear during his postgame press conference that his dad was in the wrong and confirmed they had a conversation about it
"I don't think that my pops was in the right at all there," Tyrese said. "We will have a conversation and I'll talk to Giannis it's unfortunate we're all grown men."
His father posted on X, "I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pacers organization for my actions following tonight's game. This was not a good reflection on our sport or my son and I will not make that mistake again."
