Chet Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder let out a big sigh of relief on Sunday, as they took care of business in Game 7 of their second-round series against the Denver Nuggets.
The Thunder had a chance to close out the series last Thursday, but Denver forced a Game 7 with a 125-107 victory. Nevertheless, it’s the Thunder, who are moving on to the Western Conference finals after a 125-93 victory in Game 7 at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City
Holmgren isn’t going to forget that testy Nuggets series anytime soon, and he even summed it up with a short post on Instagram.
“7 in 7⚡️,” the former Gonzaga Bulldogs star wrote as a caption for a post that featured photos of himself.
Fans are also hyped by the 23-year-old Holmgren’s post.
"Chet for president," said a fan on X.
Another one said: "You were pretty good this series, Chet!”
From a commenter: "Just getting started”
“Counting on you, slime,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Just 8 more wins ”
Said another: “Fry Rudy Gobert, please.”
Holmgren had 13 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the field while adding 11 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 28 minutes. He was among those who provided ample support for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who paced Oklahoma City with 35 points to go along with four assists and three steals.
After sending the Nuggets to an early vacation, the Thunder will take on another tough challenge, with Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves also ready to dance in the conference finals.
