Chicago Bulls announce new minority investment in ownership

The Chicago Bulls just completed the 2026 NBA Draft, ushering in a new era of basketball with excitement. But a few days later, they are making another important announcement.

The Bulls and the United Center today announced that Lukas and Samantha Walton have acquired a minority interest in both the Chicago Bulls and the United Center. The transaction involves the purchase of existing stakes from certain limited partners. The Reinsdorf family will continue to hold the controlling interest in the Bulls and remain steadfast in its long-term commitment to the organization.

The Reinsdorf and Wirtz families will continue to hold the controlling interest in the United Center and The 1901 Project.

Lukas and Samantha Walton also expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership and the investment in Chicago’s West Side. “The Chicago Bulls are as iconic as the city itself, and this transaction reflects our dedication to the city’s future.

We have long admired the vision the Reinsdorf and Wirtz families have set forth for The 1901 Project, and we look forward to the United Center’s continued positive impact on Chicago’s West Side.”
