The NBA’s free agency period is officially open, one week after the draft has been completed. With the next step of the offseason here, teams are looking to improve their rosters.
For the Chicago Bulls, they are in a rebuild. It’s up to new Executive Vice President Bryson Graham to build the roster back up and after they took Caleb Wilson and Dailyn Swain, they are hoping to add pieces via free agency.
While it was quiet for the Bulls in the first few hours of free agency, Chicago made a move to bring back a potential key piece of their rotation.
Per Shams Charania, the Bulls have agreed to a two-year deal with center Zach Collins. The center has spent the last season and a half in Chicago after being traded there from Portland.

While it’s a two-year deal, beat reporter K.C. Johnson is reporting that the second year comes with a $17M with team option. Collins is a solid depth piece that will provide some key time in the paint for the Bulls. Chicago did acquire Nic Claxton via a trade and does need depth in the post to fill out the roster.
In 2025, Collins averaged 8.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 28 games. Last season, he missed the first month of the season with an injury. He then suffered a season-ending toe injury in February. He averaged 9.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in just 10 appearances.
