Chicago Bulls: Insider hints at draft pick amid ‘movement’

New Chicago Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter will be blessed with the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft as the team begins a rebuild this offseason.

After trading Coby White, Nikola Vucevic, and Ayo Dosunmu last season, the Bulls will be relying on a new young core to develop and eventually begin contending for a playoff spot in a few seasons.

It’s not ideal, but that’s where the Bulls are at this offseason.

During an appearance on “The Score” on Thursday, Bulls insider K.C. Johnson of CHSN hinted that the team appears ready to take Caleb Wilson out of North Carolina with the No. 4 pick.

“I believe he will be in a Bulls uniform,” Johnson said of Wilson.

Johnson noted Wilson was a “friendly and likable guy” at the NBA combine earlier this spring.

Chicago can’t really control who they take out of AJ Dybansta, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Wilson, the top four prospects in the draft. But from what Johnson is hearing, Wilson appears to be the most likely choice for the Bulls at No. 4.

“Again, it’s out of their control, because they’re picking four, but it does sound like, although there might be some movement in the top three picks, I do think Caleb’s going to be there (at) four,” Johnson said.

“I will say, my one brief scrum interaction with him, he’s got about as much energy in a media session as he seems to have on the court. He plays with a high motor, and he was very affable and approachable that in that media interview.”

Of the top four prospects, Wilson needs the most polish before playing in the association as a rookie. However, Wilson has a high ceiling, and could make teams pay for passing on him in the future.

And that would be great for the Bulls.
