Chicago Bulls: Massive Zach LaVine to Golden State Warriors Trade Update

It is pretty much an open secret that the Chicago Bulls would like to get Zach LaVine's contract off their books as they aim to rebuild after making the playoffs just once over the past seven seasons.

Finding a destination for LaVine has proven to be difficult though. There was believed to be little trade interest in him over the offseason.

Things might have changed since though. LaVine has proved the doubters wrong and is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now. And a number of teams around the league could do with a dynamic scorer like him.

The Golden State Warriors seem like one such team. Stephen Curry is showing signs of slowing down as he enters the twilight years of his career and they could do with a secondary scorer to support him.

Jimmy Butler has been linked with a move to the Warriors over the past couple of days but someone like LaVine might be just as good of a fit, if not better.

According to an article from Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II in The Athletic: "After pulse-taking conversations with multiple players, it seems Zach LaVine might pique more interest, depending on his cost."

It further goes on to read: "LaVine is viewed by some within the organization as the safer option. At 29, he’s five and a half years younger and some $6 million cheaper than Butler this season, though his contract extends longer and he’s had some recent health concerns. There are risks all over the board."

It will be interesting to see what the Warriors end up doing as we quickly head towards the February 6 trade deadline. One thing is clear though, they need to do something if they want to be contending.

Right now, even getting to the playoffs is no guarantee for the Warriors. They are 11th in the West and have struggled to build up any real momentum.

A player like LaVine would add a lot to the Warriors, especially if he continues playing like he has so far this season.
