Chicago Bulls Release 2 Players
USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bulls began training camp earlier this month, and have now played two preseason games (they have gone 1-1).

On Friday, the team announced that they have waived Max Heidegger and Henri Drell.

Via The Chicago Bulls: "Transactions: We have waived guard Max Heidegger & forward Henri Drell."

Heidegger went undrafted in 2020, and is coming off a year where he played for Cazoo Baskonia.

The 26-year-old averaged 9.0 points, 1.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range in 16 games.

Meanwhile, Drell went undrafted in 2022 and is coming off a season where he played for the Windy City Bulls in the G League.

The 23-year-old averaged 11.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 48.6% from the field and 34.1% from the three-point range in 29 regular season games (he also appeared in 19 Showcase Cup games).

Now that both players have been waived, it's possible that they will play for the Windy City Bulls next season.

Deals like this happen a lot during this time of the year, as players will sign a training camp deal with an NBA team and then get waived and join the G League affiliate at the start of the season.

Meanwhile, the Bulls missed the NBA playoffs last season, finishing the year with a 40-42 record and losing to the Toronto Raptors in the play-in tournament.

They will play their first regular season game on October 25 when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder
