Chicago Bulls sign Terry Taylor

The Chicago Bulls have rounded out their roster with the addition of forward Terry Taylor. The 6-foot-5 forward was part of the Bulls squad last season, but played in just five games, averaging 4 points and 1.6 rebounds in limited minutes. However, he has put in the work for the Bulls’ G League affiliate—the Windy City Bulls—where he dominated with robust numbers of 20 points on 54 percent shooting, to go with 12.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game in seven appearances.

Promising rookie season

Taylor had a very promising rookie season with the Indiana Pacers. Though he played in only 33 games, he showed glimpses of his ability as he averaged 9.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in just 21 minutes of playing time. This included a 24-point, 16-rebound outburst against Orlando and then a 21-point, 14-board display against Chicago in back-to-back games.

Role with the Bulls

It remains unclear how the Bulls will utilize the young Taylor. With the rotation already fairly established, it could be hard for him to find much playing time. If he does get on the court, though, Taylor brings an intriguing set of skills with his combination of being able to finish around the rim and defend numerous positions.

Should the Bulls start the season strong and be in contention all year long, minutes and opportunities may be difficult to come by for the former Austin Peay State University ace. However, should the Bulls falter and decide the tear the roster down, Taylor just may get the chance he’s been looking for.
