Former NBA star Chris Bosh and his wife are being sued by a woman who used to work for their family as an assistant.
Olga Kirpicheva, who says she worked as an assistant for Bosh and his wife Adrienne for several years beginning in 2017, has made numerous allegations against the couple in a lawsuit that was filed in California last month. Kirpicheva has accused the Boshes of creating a work environment that was so toxic it has caused her to suffer from “debilitating panic attacks.”
The lawsuit, which obtained by Justin Rohrlich of The Independent, accuses the Boshes of ignoring multiple incidents in which Kirpicheva was sexually assaulted. In one alleged incident, a relative of Bosh’s who was on the former All-Star’s payroll is accused of making unwanted sexual advances toward Kirpicheva and rubbing his crotch up against her. Kirpicheva says Bosh and his wife were informed of what was going on and that Adrienne “laughed” in response.
On another occasion, Kirpicheva says one of the coaches at Bosh’s August 2022 basketball camp knocked on her hotel room door at 1:45 a.m. and claimed he was returning a set of rental car keys to her. When she opened the door, she says the man “pressed his way in and gained unauthorized access to the room” and then forced himself on her until she “struggled, pushed him off, and shouted.” Kirpicheva says the man fled the hotel room.
Kirpicheva, 34, says she repeatedly tried to tell Bosh what had happened but he deliberately avoided her so he could claim ignorance.
Kirpicheva made numerous other allegations against the Boshes, including that they forced her to work long hours without adequate rest or meals and were verbally abusive toward her. After she resigned, Kirpicheva claims the Boshes locked her out of a Texas apartment they had rented for her and did not allow her to retrieve her passport, work permit, Social Security card and other belongings. Kirpicheva says she had to get a court order to get her items back.
In a response to the lawsuit on Sept. 11, the Boshes denied all of the allegations and accused Kirpicheva of engaging in “employment-related misconduct” and “fraud.” They also said Kirpicheva “abandoned” her items at the Texas apartment.
Bosh, 41, played in the NBA for 13 seasons from 2003-2016. He began his career with the Toronto Raptors and then won two NBA titles with the Miami Heat as part of their “Big Three” alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Bosh’s playing career was cut short by serious blood clot issues.
