Chris Paul is officially in the twilight of his career at this point, now, and he has returned to a former team to potentially play his last season of his career. Paul signed with the LA Clippers this offseason to be closer to his family during the season after spending the 2024-25 season in San Antonio with the Spurs. Paul had some productive moments last season as he played in all 82 games.

Although his prime fantasy-producing days are behind him, Paul can still be a productive player for depth purposes, especially with this talented Clippers team. His return to the Clippers is also interesting because it’s not only a reunion with LA, but it’s also a reunion with James Harden. This time, it’s with Paul as the backup point guard to James Harden. Anyway, here is the 2025-26 fantasy outlook for the Point God.

Paul averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 2024-25 with the Spurs, last season being a mentor to that young team led by Victor Wembanyama. The veteran point guard was one of those guys who was a decent waiver option last season for the frequent pick-ups and uses. I should know I was able to grab CP3 and make the playoffs in my league, although I got smoked in the first round of those playoffs, but I ended up finishing third overall. SO I am a beneficiary of what an Older CP3 can do in fantasy in spurts.  Anyway, enough of living in the past, let’s project CP3’s current 2025-26 future.

Chris Paul’s 2025-26 Projections

ESPN is projecting CP3 to have 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 74 games played in 2025-26, which has him ranked at 106 in their rankings. He’ll be a streaming option most likely once again because of the lack of minutes with LA. But most likely a riskier stream than last year because of the potential Clipper rotation this season, with James Harden taking most of the point guard minutes.

Final Thoughts

With that being said, Chris Paul has shown the ability to blow up fantasy expectations that are set up for him. Just look at last season for that evidence. But I think for this season, this is probably going to be a little bit more of a lackluster role for him with the Clippers this upcoming season because of the other guard depth Los Angeles has this season. So, have tempered expectations if you use a waiver on CP3 this season.
