Chris Paul’s situation with the Los Angeles Clippers has finally been resolved.

The Clippers have traded Paul to the Toronto Raptors as part of a three-team trade. The move will save the Clippers $7 million and also gets the Raptors out of the luxury tax by sending Ochai Agbaji to the Brooklyn Nets.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Raptors will not require Paul to join the team, and could trade him again.

Paul has not played since Dec. 1, and the Clippers sent him home shortly after that. He has been away from the team and has said little on his future in what was supposed to be his final NBA season.

The Raptors are almost certainly a playoff team, but it would still be a surprise if Paul suits up for them. It is not clear who he would be willing to play for, or if he would be willing to play again at all. A few teams have been linked to the future Hall of Fame point guard, but it remains to be seen if he lands somewhere he would report to.
