Los Angeles Clippers star forward Kawhi Leonard has had an incredible career in the NBA. Playing in his 14th year in the league, Leonard has averaged 20.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per contest in 786 career games.

The 34-year-old, Los Angeles native has seven All-Star Game selections, seven All-Defensive Team selections, six All-NBA selections, won two Defensive Player of the Year awards and two Finals MVPs in a pair of title-winning seasons.

Leonard began his career with the San Antonio Spurs, who selected him 15th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. He played seven years with the Spurs before one season with the Toronto Raptors, in which they won the NBA title, and is now in his sixth year with Los Angeles.

Leonard is having one of the best years of his career this season with the Clippers. In 53 games played, he has put up a career-high 28.3 points per contest to go along with 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals.

On Saturday, Los Angeles had its four-game winning streak snapped in a 118-109 loss to the Sacramento Kings. In that game, Leonard played great, leading the Clippers with 31 points on 13-of-23 shooting from the floor. However, he went down with an ankle injury and was removed from the game.

After the game, he was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle. On Monday, the Clippers announced through the official NBA injury report that Leonard would not play against the Spurs on Monday night due to the injury.

This is a big loss for a Clippers team that is fighting for a playoff spot with a 34-33 record. Los Angeles currently sits in eighth place in the Western Conference with 15 games to play in the regular season.

The Clippers will try to do without Leonard on Monday against the second-place Spurs (49-18) at the Intuit Dome. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
