Clippers erase 24-point deficit in comeback win vs. 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid kept his hot streak alive with another 40-point game, but it wasn't enough to hold off a furious comeback from the Los Angeles Clippers.

After trailing by as many as 24 points in the second half, the Clippers roared back to beat the 76ers, 102-101. It was the largest lead Philadelphia has blown in at least 25 years, according to ESPN Stats and Info, but it wasn't even the Clippers' largest comeback of January 2022. Just 10 days earlier, Los Angeles erased a 25-point deficit to beat the Denver Nuggets, 87-85.

Seven different Clippers scored at least 10 points, and the team shot 46 percent from the field.

Embiid had 40 points and 13 rebounds. He's finished with at least 30 points in 12 of his last 13 games, and he dropped a career-high 50 points in the 76ers' 123-110 win against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

The Clippers improved to 23-24 with the win and now sit just ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves for eighth place in the Western Conference. The 76ers dropped to 26-19 and fell to sixth in the Eastern Conference.
