The Los Angeles Clippers find themselves in a tough stretch at a critical point in the season, having lost four of their last five games. Their latest defeat came at the hands of their cross-town rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.
Without their leading scorer Norman Powell on Friday night, the Clippers fell to a Lakers team that was also shorthanded. Despite their recent struggles, the Clippers remain sixth in the Western Conference with a 32-27 record and are searching for ways to strengthen their roster ahead of a crucial playoff push.
In an attempt to do that, the Clippers made a roster move on Saturday.
Per ESPN's Shams Charania, the Clippers have converted Jordan Miller’s two-way deal into a full-time NBA contract.
"The Los Angeles Clippers and two-way guard Jordan Miller have agreed to a four-year, $8.3 million contract, sources tell ESPN," Charana wrote on X. "The 2023 second-rounder has starred for the Clippers' G League team and now earns a standard deal, including over $1M for the last 6 weeks of the season."

While this move is a major milestone for Miller, it comes at the expense of fourth-year forward MarJon Beauchamp, who was waived by the Clippers to free up a roster spot ( per the team ). Beauchamp was acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks at the NBA trade deadline in exchange for Kevin Porter Jr. However, he was unable to find a spot in Ty Lue’s rotation and will now have to search for an opportunity elsewhere.
The timing of Miller’s promotion is strategic, as he was approaching the 50-game limit for two-way players set by the NBA. This move not only secures his future with the team but also opens a new slot for the Clippers to sign another two-way player, which they have reportedly done.
"The Los Angeles Clippers are waiving Kai Jones and signing Seth Lundy and Patrick Baldwin Jr. to two-way contracts, sources tell ESPN," Charania added in a report on X. "Clippers are converting Jordan Miller to a standard deal today and adding two new two-ways."

Selected 48th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Miller has appeared in 30 games for the Clippers this season, including a 12-game stretch from Nov. 20 to Dec. 12. He has averaged 4.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 12.4 minutes per game, with his best performance coming in a win against the Washington Wizards on Nov. 27, where he scored 15 points off the bench.
Now officially part of the main roster, Miller has an opportunity to prove his worth to a Clippers team looking to maximize its championship window with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden leading the charge.
