The LA Clippers have been facing a roster crunch during this training camp period. On Wednesday, the organization announced that they would be parting ways with Cam Christie.
The LA Clippers have waived Cam Christie, trimming their roster down to 15.
They do have a two-way spot and Cam Christie is in his last year of eligibility for a two-way contract if they want to retain him.

Christie was the 46th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and a guy the Clippers were excited to select with their pick. But in the two seasons he’s been with the franchise, he’s been unable to make strides large enough to warrant an increase in minutes. Aside from that, there weren’t many minutes available to him to play, learn through his mistakes, and develop as the Clippers attempted to compete for a deep playoff run.
Christie has 48 hours to clear waivers, but could be claimed by a team in the league who might want to take a chance on him.
As mentioned in a recent newser, the Clippers were always likely to cut Cam Christie and his $2.3 million guarantee to reach the 15-player roster limit.
The Clippers recently also cut Yuki Kawamura from their training camp roster, but head coach Tyronn Lue wasn’t exactly ruling out coaching him again.
“We’re just getting different looks,” Lue said. “I wouldn’t say it’s over for Yuki yet… He’s done a terrific job, everybody loves him, his energy is very infectious. He’s been great for us. It’s not over for him yet… I don’t think he gets a fair shake a lot because of his height and size, but he’s a damn good basketball player.”
The move leaves the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, and Charlotte Hornets as the remaining teams with decisions to make on their opening night rosters.
The Clippers host the Denver Nuggets in their preseason finale tonight at Intuit Dome.
