Clippers' Paul George ready to move on from disappointing Game 2 loss to Suns

Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers blew a massive opportunity in Game 2 against the Phoenix Suns, and they may have lost the series because of it.

George put the Clippers up 103-102 with seconds remaining in the game, and after Patrick Beverley forced a turnover, the seven-time All-Star went to the line for free throws. He missed both.

The Suns got the ball back, and Deandre Ayton threw down a monster dunk to win the game 104-103, giving Phoenix a 2-0 series lead.

After the game, George was asked about his missed free throws and said he's not going to put too much thought into it. Instead, he's focusing on Game 3.

“Obviously it was an opportunity that was missed. Pat made an unbelievable play that put me in position to extend the lead. I'm always confident at the free throw line. Tonight, I was just unsuccessful extending the lead.“

Patrick Beverley added that Tuesday's loss was tough to swallow because the Clippers were so close to heading back home with the series tied up.

"I've played a lot of games in this league. This was a hard game to swallow because you look at this game... We got this game won.

"But we've been in the trenches before, we respond well, and we'll respond well. We always do."

The Clippers will now return home down 2-0 for the third series in a row. They came back to defeat the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz, but the Suns are looking more unbeatable by the game. And with Chris Paul hopefully returning soon, Phoenix will do everything in its power to avoid blowing a 2-0 lead.
