Clippers React to Big Kawhi Leonard Feat After Playoff Elimination

On the heels of a hard-fought first-round series loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Clippers have once again turned the spotlight on Kawhi Leonard’s remarkable consistency.

Los Angeles dropped Game 7 in Denver to bow out of the 2025 playoffs, but not before Leonard delivered yet another vintage performance.

In the Nuggets’ 120-101 win on May 3, Leonard poured in 22 points on 6-for-13 shooting, grabbed five rebounds and swatted away two shots in 33 minutes.

On Tuesday, just a few weeks after LA's playoff elimination, the Clippers' social media team posted on X to remind fans of Leonard's dominance.

They highlighted that Leonard had become just the second player in NBA history with 20+ points, 5+ rebounds, 1+ steals and 40% + from 3-point range in three consecutive seasons.

Leonard’s journey to the upper echelon began at San Diego State and continued as the No. 15 pick by the Indiana Pacers in 2011, immediately shipped to the San Antonio Spurs.

In San Antonio, he earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons (2015, 2016) and was a cornerstone of the Spurs’ 2014 title run.

Traded to Toronto in 2018, Leonard led the Raptors to their first NBA championship, earning Finals MVP in 2019 with unforgettable playoff averages of 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals across 24 postseason games.

Since arriving in Los Angeles for the 2019-20 season, Leonard has continued to build his legacy.

A six-time All-Star and seven-time All-Defensive Team member, he was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

This past year with the Clippers, he posted averages of 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals across 37 regular-season games.
