Ben Simmons has returned to action for the Los Angeles Clippers after missing seven games in March due to a lingering knee issue.
On Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, the former Rookie of the Year logged 12 minutes off the bench as he helped the Clippers pull off their eighth win in 10 games.
Unfortunately, Simmons will be back on the sidelines in L.A.'s next game. This is after the three-time All-Star was ruled out for Friday's matchup against Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks as the Clippers manage his left knee injury.
This report comes via team beat reporter Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

OUT:
Amir Coffey - Left Knee Inflammation
Jordan Miller - Left Hamstring Tendinopathy
Ben Simmons - Left Knee Injury Management
It is worth noting that Simmons also sat out on Monday against the Orlando Magic. That was the second night of a back-to-back set for L.A., and it was the 6-foot-10 point guard's first missed contest after playing in eight straight games.
The silver lining for Clippers fans here is that it does not sound like Simmons has suffered a setback in his injury, and his absence for Friday's game appears to be merely precautionary.
In 14 games played since signing with L.A. as a free agent in February, Simmons has averaged 3.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 17.5 minutes per contest.
The former No. 1 overall pick is no longer the superstar he once was, but the Clippers, who as of writing are seventh in the West with a 44-32 record, can surely use all the help they can get as they fight for a guaranteed playoff spot in the conference.
