The Clippers have signed second-round pick Nick Martinelli to a two-way contract, per NBA.com’s official log of transactions.
Martinelli was drafted with the 55th overall pick and sent from the Rockets to the Clippers, who acquired his draft rights in exchange for cash. He’ll fill L.A.’s second two-way slot alongside Sean Pedulla. The team’s third slot remains open.
A 6’7″ forward who spent all four collegiate years at Northwestern, Martinelli averaged 20 or more points in each of the last two seasons while hitting 41.7% of his three-point attempts this year. However, the 22-year-old’s shot has been up and down, as he made below 34% of his attempts from beyond the arc in his sophomore and junior campaigns.
Martinelli is also a strong rebounder, averaging 6.2 total rebounds – including more than two offensive boards – per game in each of the last two years.
The Clippers added four players in June’s draft. Keaton Wagler and Martinelli are now under contract, while No. 36 pick Baba Miller and No. 57 pick Narcisse Ngoy remain unsigned. Ngoy, who has committed to play at Auburn in 2026/27, is expected to be a domestic draft-and-stash.
