The trade ides for the Los Angeles Clippers continue to roll in.
Early in this offseason, both Lonzo Ball and Lou Williams have mentioned the possibility of the Clippers making a trade for LaMelo Ball.
However, they may need to look elsewhere for a backcourt boost this offseason.
Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz has some alternative options for the Clippers to pursue.
Swartz named Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton as a dream trade target for the Clippers.
The list of dream trade targets actually included a pair of other Jazz guards as well. Swartz also named Jordan Clarkson and Keynote George.
Sexton is the player from this list that makes the most sense. George has become an important part of the Jazz rotation in his second year in the league, which makes him unlikely to be traded.
Clarkson will be 33 next month and has already begun to see both his production and availability tail off over the last couple of seasons.
Sexton would be a great fit for the Clippers. He is an efficient scorer who could form a solid backcourt with James Harden.
This past season, Sexton scored 18.4 points per game while shooting 48% from the floor and 40.6% from three. He also averaged 4.2 assists per game.
He's just an average defender, but would have Ivica Zubac behind him to clean up any time he gets beat on the perimeter.
The Jazz should be ready to deal when it comes to Sexton as he is heading into the final year of his contract, they won't want him to leave for free, and he's currently taking up minutes that could be used for younger players on a bad team.
The Clippers need an upgrade in their backcourt and another scorer they can turn to. Sexton could solve those issues for them while not costing them so much they can't afford to address their front court as well.
