The Grizzlies finalized the contract buyout with Jeff Schwartz and Javon Phillips of Excel Sports for Anthony’s new opportunity, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Cole Anthony’s one-year stint with the Memphis Grizzlies saw an uber-athletic and ultra-confident point guard. Anthony averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, and shot 42.4% from the field goal line. Anthony’s postseason averages include 2.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, and 28.6% shooting from the field. Anthony’s career averages include 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, and 41.9% from the field. These numbers incorporate Anthony’s five-year tenure with the Orlando Magic.
Cole Anthony can help fill in the Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard need. The Bucks waived Damian Lillard following a torn left Achilles tendon this past season. The Bucks’ other point guard signings include Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins this offseason. Anthony has proven he can be a reliable scoring option at point guard off the bench.
