Colin Cowherd proposes wild trade scenario for Warriors and Celtics

This proposal likely would not have been floated if not for concerns surrounding Brown and Poole. Brown's interview with The Ringer's Logan Murdock served as one catalyst for speculation. In the interview, he spoke about issues ranging from the Celtics' suspension of Ime Udoka to his association with the lightning rod of Kanye West. Brown also talked about his unsteady relationship with the Celtics' fan base, which gave rise to mumurs about his future with the team.

"As long as I’m needed. It’s not up to me. We’ll see how they feel about me over time and (how) I feel about them over time. Hopefully, whatever it is, it makes sense. But I will stay where I’m wanted. I will stay where I’m needed and treated correct."

He did not say much more in a press conference the morning after the interview was published. The uncertainty surrounding Brown's status comes with the defending Eastern Conference champions on the ropes in their second-round tilt against the Philadelphia 76ers. A proposal like this, even from a known speculator such as Cowherd, only heightens the suspense about his future.

Poole has raised plenty of eyebrows in a different way. For instance, the leaked video of him getting decked by Draymond Green came while he was in the midst of negotiating a mammoth four-year, $123 million contract extension. His shaky shooting in these playoffs have further put a spotlight on his flaws. He is additionally known as a below average defender despite his scoring talents.

Cowherd seems to have a thing about Alphas and he sees this proposal as a way for each team to turn its so-called problem into the other's solution. Considering that both teams are still in the playoffs and are just a year removed from competing in the NBA Finals, it is difficult to imagine they would help one another -- even if some players, on both teams, could use a change of scenery.
