Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves were bounced from the NBA playoffs in a blowout Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, then Converse added some insult to injury for Edwards.
The Thunder seized control of Wednesday's Game 5 from the opening tip, outscoring the Timberwolves 26-9 in the first quarter and building the lead to more than 30 before halftime. Edwards struggled for the second straight game, scoring just 19 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field.
Shortly after the final buzzer sounded, Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's shoe company took to social media to troll Edwards. Converse posted a short video showing an ant (in honor of Edwards' nickname Ant) climbing through the imprint of a sneaker.
"Not hard 2 believe. [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] is headed to the Finals," the company wrote in the caption for its post on X.

Converse has made a big investment in Gilgeous-Alexander, announcing last year that they signed him to a multi-year deal. Converse CEO Jared Carver said at the time that Gilgeous-Alexander was the perfect fit for the company.
“At Converse, we serve the creators. And Shai embodies every sense of the word," Carver said in a statement published by Shams Charania of The Athletic. "He is constantly pushing the edge of style, whether through his incredible play on the court, or his personal creativity off the court."
Converse will get even more exposure now as Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder head to the NBA Finals for just the second time since the team was relocated from Seattle.
