Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks suffered their third straight loss on Saturday night. This time around, the Mavs lost to Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets, 111-107.
Flagg cannot be blamed for a lack of effort in the loss, though. The 19-year-old rookie went off again, logging a game-high 34 points on 13-of-25 shooting, 12 rebounds, five assists, a block and one three-pointer in 39 minutes of action.
Despite Flagg’s strong play, however, the Mavs still fell short. They dropped to 19-30 after this latest loss. They remain 11th in the Western Conference and are now 4.0 games outside the Top 10.
Flagg made history again on Saturday night. He rewrote the NBA history books once more to become the first teenager to ever amass back-to-back 30-point double-doubles.
Flagg dropped 34 and 12 on Saturday against Houston. This was preceded by a 49-point, 10-rebound explosion on Thursday against the Charlotte Hornets. Unfortunately for the Mavs, they still lost both games despite Flagg’s strong play.

Flagg has kept his foot on the gas amid his awe-inspiring rookie campaign. Entering Friday’s contest, the former Duke Blue Devils star averaged 19.5 points on 48.2% shooting, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.3 steals.
Flagg will now want to keep it going in their next game as Dallas looks to bust out of this latest losing skid. The Mavs get a couple of days off before their return to action. They face the 30-18 Boston Celtics on Tuesday. It will be a home game in Dallas for Flagg and Co., with tip-off from American Airlines Center scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
