Despite being out due to a left midfoot sprain, it’s safe to say that Cooper Flagg will run away with the Rookie of the Year honors this season. He’s been consistently on top of the rookie rankings, putting up 20-6-4 splits so far for the Dallas Mavericks.
And what does being good in basketball mean for the youngster? Opportunities everywhere – outside and/or inside the court. Flagg was set to appear on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’ However, due to a powerful winter storm hitting the Northeast, his appearance on the popular show was postponed.
“[Cooper] Flagg had been slated to appear Monday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 p.m. CST on NBC alongside Tracy Morgan, Neve Campbell, and musical guest TWICE. However, with the Dallas Mavericks unable to travel from Indianapolis into New York City due to the storm, the appearance will no longer take place as scheduled,” according to a report from Grant Afseth.
A major New York City blizzard has postponed Cooper Flagg’s Feb. 23 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after travel into NYC was halted, with 5,000+ U.S. flights canceled.

The show is filmed in Studio 6B at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. But due to bad weather, 5000-plus flights have been cancelled. The Mavs team is currently in Indiana, waiting for better weather conditions before resuming their flight schedule.
Mavs head coach Jason Kidd started Cooper Flagg at the point guard position at the start of this season. However, the rookie sensation isn’t a natural-born floor general. He’s mostly played either the small or power forward spot throughout his amateur career.
But if you ask Kidd about his decision, he doesn’t care one bit about people’s opinions. “You write that bulls---. That’s not, I’ve done this. I’ve played this game. I played it at a very high level, and I know what the f--- I’m doing. But I don’t give a f--- what you guys write. Because you guys have never played. And so I built players. So I know what the f--- I’m doing,” Kidd said in a previous interview.
That’s a fiery response from the former one-time champ. Looking at Flagg’s numbers, he’s thrived whenever he’s paired with a competent floor general.
