Court date set for Pistons F/C Isaiah Stewart
Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Pistons forward/center Isaiah Stewart was given a Friday court date in relation to a misdemeanor assault charge.

Stewart was arrested and issued a citation last Wednesday after allegedly punching Suns forward Drew Eubanks prior to Detroit's game in Phoenix. Stewart was released, and the date for his case in Phoenix Municipal Court was announced on Monday.

"The attack on Drew Eubanks was unprovoked, and acts of violence such as this are unacceptable," the Suns said in a statement last week. "We unequivocally support Drew and will continue to work with local law enforcement and the NBA."

Eubanks ended up playing against Detroit, but he did sustain a minor injury from the altercation with Stewart.

Stewart, 22, is averaging 11 points and 6.8 rebounds through 35 games (34 starts) this season. He hasn't played this month due to a sprained left ankle.
