The Dallas Mavericks could fire general manager Nico Harrison, according to NBA insider Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

The Mavericks are 3-7, while Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers are 7-3 and Dončić is averaging 37.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.

Harrison has two years remaining on his contract.

Kyrie Irving is out with his ACL tear, Anthony Davis is already hurt and Klay Thompson was recently benched for D’Angelo Russell.

Harrison acquired Irving from the Brooklyn Nets and Davis from the Lakers. He signed Thompson in free agency last offseason and Russell in free agency this offseason.

Cooper Flagg has played decently for the Mavericks. The Duke product is averaging 13.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 40.3% from the field, 27.0% from beyond the arc and 96.2% from the free-throw line.

However, Dallas, as a team, has been a nightmare to watch. Through 10 games, the Mavericks are 30th in the NBA in points per game, eighth in points per game allowed, 29th in offensive rating, fourth in defensive rating and 24th in net rating.

Davis has played in only five games this season. He’s currently out with a leg injury. The future Hall of Famer has appeared in just 14 games with the Mavericks since the blockbuster Dončić trade last season.

Davis reported to training camp at 268 pounds, according to the roster the Mavericks released in September. That was 15 pounds heavier than what he was listed at the previous season with the Lakers.

A Chicago native, Davis is 32 years old. He is under contract for $54.1 million this season and $58.5 million for the 2026–27 season. The NBA champion has a player option for the 2027–28 season worth $62.8 million.

The Mavericks are back in action on Monday when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. “Fire Nico!” chants have been heard at every home game this season. Fans who yell it or have signs will continue to be thrown out by security.
