Danny Green says Lakers need Dwight Howard and Avery Bradley to win

As the deadline approaches for NBA players to inform their teams they won't be participating in the resumed season, Danny Green says that the Lakers will need Dwight Howard and Avery Bradley to have a chance to win the championship.

"I think it’s just important that we’re together," Green told Caron Butler. "Obviously we’re going to need Avery Bradley, we’re going to need Dwight Howard to be playing for us to have a chance. But I think it’s important that we stay healthy, and not just our team but the league."

Players who are opting out of Orlando must notify their teams by June 24, with Trail Blazers forward Trevor Ariza and Wizards forward David Bertans both choosing to skip the resumed season. Howard and Bradley have been leading voices for players expressing skepticism about the bubble plan, though the Lakers are reportedly expecting Howard to play. It is unclear if Bradley will join the team in Orlando or not. Green has argued that the best way for players to speak on political issues is if the season is being played.

"Everybody that’s in the league has to have a unified front on what we’re going to do and speak with one voice," Green said. "But for our team individually, as a group, Lakers, we need to be together, we need to be on the same page, we’ve got to stay healthy. I think we have some professional guys that are on top of it and actually staying in shape during this time, so I think we’ll be a little ahead of the curve with that."
