Darvin Ham was in attendance to watch Giannis Antetokounmpo with Greece, and noticed a strategy the Milwaukee Bucks should be using.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, for yet another NBA offseason, has made his future a massive talking point. The Milwaukee Bucks forward has a penchant for stirring up speculation once in a while.
In a desperate attempt to keep Giannis happy, the Bucks waived Damian Lillard and stretched his salary across five years.
This was done to create cap space so the Bucks could sign Myles Turner, snapping up the big man from their rivals, the Indiana Pacers.
But if Darvin Ham is to be believed, the trick to keeping Giannis happy in Milwaukee is to just have the team play like the Greek national team does.
Darvin Ham was in attendance to watch Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece’s 75-66 win over Italy at the EuroBasket tournament.
When talking about how Giannis looked, he admitted that Greece has a more team-oriented approach with the superstar, while the Bucks rely on Antetokounmpo to be Superman due to the game’s speed.
“Absolutely. It’s more team-oriented, more sets. All of that is different here. They don’t play as fast as we do in the NBA. In the NBA, his usage rate is off the charts.
“He always has the ball in his hand. A little bit different role for him over there. He does a great job of including his teammates.
“I can’t stress that enough. With us, he has to be Superman. It’s good to see him able to do both.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 31 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win, leading the team in scoring. In fact, Antetokounmpo was the only Greek player to score more than 10 points.
The Milwaukee Bucks will want Giannis Antetokounmpo to carry this form into the NBA season as they face a massive challenge next season.
While the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics have been taken out of contention due to injuries, the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers are still top players, while the Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks have also improved.
The Bucks’ roster depth has been compromised due to the Damian Lillard waive-and-stretch approach, and they will be very reliant on their top players to keep them afloat next season.
