Darvin Ham Unconcerned Despite LA's Shooting Woes Vs Knicks
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday, your Los Angeles Lakers actually took significantly more triples than an opponent, in this case 11 more than the visiting New York Knicks (41-30).

They just didn't, you know, make many, connecting on just 13 (31.7%).

After LA's eventual 114-109 home loss to the Knicks, head coach Darvin Ham spoke with gathered reporters and lamented some botched opportunities when it came to the club's field goal shooting in general.

"For us we had some really outstanding looks that just didn't go down, both from the rim and from three," Ham said. "We've just got to tighten up as much as we possibly can."

"It's a game of runs," Ham continued. "All the looks we got tonight, I'll take them every day of the week and twice on Sundays. You just got to continue being aggressive."

Ham preached long-term patience, as the Purple and Gold fall to a 15-12 record on the year.

“We've got to push through this time,” Ham said. “And it’s normally like that in December and January. So, we’ll be fine... We’ll watch it on film as we prepare to also get ready for this three-game trip.”

Los Angeles shot 42-of-99 from the floor (42.4%), a significantly less efficient rate than the Knicks' 42-of-88 shooting clip (47.7%).

Tonight, the Lakers, who've gone 1-3 across their last four contests, will have an opportunity to right the ship against the Chicago Bulls, another team that, until recently anyway, was one of the more minimal three-point shooting teams in the league, along with LA.
