Daryl Morey predicting NBA title after James Harden trade?
Is James Harden the missing piece for the Sixers? Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Daryl Morey is coming in hot with his victory lap after successfully getting James Harden back.

The Philadelphia 76ers GM Morey posted a video to his Instagram Story on Saturday of his reunion with Harden after acquiring the former MVP from the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster trade earlier this week.

Morey also posed for a picture with Harden and his own daughter Karen Morey, sharing it to Twitter with a very interesting emoji — a trophy.

That sounds a lot like Morey is predicting a championship for the 76ers now that they have acquired Harden. Morey is obviously well aware of what The Bearded One is capable of after they previously worked together in Houston, including Harden’s MVP 2017-18 season during which the Rockets won 65 games and nearly dethroned the Kevin Durant-Steph Curry Golden State Warriors. While Harden is no longer the same player who could drop 35 points a night in Houston, he is now playing with Joel Embiid, who is a better co-star than Harden ever had with the Rockets.

Excitement aside, however, there is still plenty of work for Morey to do with Harden. One of his first orders of business will be trying to convince Harden to stay beyond this season, something that is still very much up in the air.
