With the series split 1-1, the Denver Nuggets are set to play a pivotal Game 3 at the Intuit Dome against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night. There remains doubt as to whether the contest will include Michael Porter Jr. or not.

Porter suffered a mild left should sprain at the end of a tight 105-102 loss in Game 2 against the Clippers. The Nuggets sharpshooter has been listed as questionable for the crucial tilt in Game 3 ever since.

David Adelman shares optimism on Porter

The first piece of good news for Nuggets fans everywhere was the fact that Porter went through Wednesday's practice. The next addition of promising intel will come from David Adelman.

The Nuggets head coach spoke to the media after practice. Naturally, reporters wanted to know about Porter's status ahead of Game 3. Adelman was in good spirits about the matter.

"I'm very optimistic," the Nuggets coach told reporters. "I don't think he gets enough credit for how tough he is, [and] what he's played through over these years."

Adelman continued: "His pain threshold is something that people don't understand, don't get, that he deals with all year long. So, do I know if Mike's gonna play? No, but I do know if Mike can play, he will. Trust Mike."

The series between the Nuggets and Clippers has been, by far, the closest and most entertaining first-round matchup of the bunch. Considering the margin of winning has been 2.5 points through the first two games, missing Porter can really hurt Denver.

The Nuggets forward had a good bounce-back performance with a double-double in Game 2, after an underwhelming start to the series with only three points scored. Denver's already thin depth would take a big hit from not having Porter available.
