DeMar DeRozan defends LeBron James' bold comments on Bronny

LeBron James has made waves for a number of reasons throughout his career, but one which caught many off-guard was his comparison of his son, Bronny, with NBA players. This came back in March when James boldly stated that his son was "definitely better" than some of the players he was watching on NBA League Pass.

It's an interesting debate, but the statement may hold even more weight currently than it did when he said it. Bronny has emerged as a five-star recruit in many rankings and recently committed to play his college basketball for the USC Trojans.

Chicago Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan recently joined Paul George's podcast, 'Podcast P with Paul George' and was asked about LeBron's statement. To the surprise of many, DeRozan defended James' take and even seemed to agree with it.

"We do got a lot of sorry motherf***ers in the league," DeRozan said. "Being in the league so long you realize motherf***ers don't love the game of basketball, who take it for granted, who feel so entitled, who just want everything that comes with it but don't want to put the work in. It's so frustrating."

George also agreed with the general sentiment, stating that "it's a good, what is it 450 of us? It's a good 75 to 100 stinks, good dudes though."

George stating that 75 to 100 players in the NBA stink shines a bright light on the idea that Bronny is already better than a number of NBA players and leaves real reason to believe that it just may be true.

Although it'd be wise to wait and see Bronny play a game at the collegiate level before making any final statements, some NBA Draft experts out there are buying into the hype. A previous 2024 mock draft by ESPN's Jonathan Givony had Bronny coming off the board at No. 10 overall to the Orlando Magic.
