DeMar DeRozan-Michael Porter Jr. Swapped In Trade Proposal By NBA Hall of Famer

NBA legend Paul Pierce had an interesting trade proposal for the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings. He believes the Nuggets should trade Michael Porter Jr. to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for DeMar DeRozan.

Here is what Pierce had to say about his proposed trade. “I feel like if they had a DeMar DeRozan with that team right now, with Joker, he don’t need to be the best player or the second-best player every night. He is going to give you more than what Michael Porter Jr. gave you.” Would this be a good trade for both sides?

MPJ did not play well for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Playoffs. He sprained his left AC joint in the 1st Round against the Clippers. That injury clearly hampered his performance. He did not play like his usual self during the postseason.

DeRozan spent the regular season with the Sacramento Kings. Even though he will be 36 next season, he proved he could still be an elite scorer. That would make him a great fit with the Nuggets. He would team up with Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic to form a dynamic trio with the team.

Final Thoughts

Both the Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets are expected to have busy offseasons. Domantas Sabonis could be growing restless in Sacramento. Denver will also be looking to make big moves this offseason as they seek to again become a championship-caliber team. It is unclear if Pierce’s trade would be acceptable to both teams, but it will create fodder over the summer.
