Dennis Rodman of course has cultivated a reputation uniquely his own thanks to his outrageous personality, outlandish antics and at times irresponsible behavior.

That does not mean that the five-time NBA champion doesn’t recognize the seriousness of what’s happening in the country, nor the fact that he has the ability to make a difference amid all the tumult and turmoil in the wake of George Floyd’s death on May 25 while in Minneapolis police custody.

Darren Prince, a Rodman representative, recently announced that the Hall of Famer will auction off an opportunity for two fans to have dinner with him, with the proceeds going to the Black Votes Matter Fund.

The auction, hosted on CharityBuzz, was first reported by TMZ Sports on Thursday.

“Dennis Rodman is so disappointed at all the rioting and looting in light of the tragic death of George Floyd that he’s auctioning off himself for dinner for two lucky guests with all the proceeds going to benefit the Black Voters Matter Fund,” Prince told TMZ Sports.

Rodman felt compelled to have auction proceeds go to the Black Votes Matter Fund because he feels “dedicated to expanding Black voter engagement & increasing progressive power.”

Along with the dinner, the winning bid will also result in Rodman signing two jerseys on site for the two fans who attend. Interestingly enough, the winner of the auction will be “responsible for the cost of the meal,” according to the CharityBuzz listing.

Bidding on the Rodman dining experience ends on June 18. As of Thursday morning, the leading bid is sitting at $3,000 for an auction with an estimated value of $15,000.
