The Detroit Pistons entered NBA free agency on Monday with some key decisions to make regarding their roster.

They started it off by re-signing Paul Reed to a new two-year deal and then signed Caris LeVert to a two-year, $29 million contract.

While Detroit was able to bring in a new veteran guard and keep one of their key big men, they still had three key players on the free agent market.

Those players are Dennis Schroder, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley, all of whom may be on the move to a new team this summer.

That was the case for Schroder as The Athletic’s Fred Katz reported that the veteran guard will agree to sign with the Sacramento Kings.

This is a massive move for the Kings as they are able to bring in a new starting point guard that they had trouble finding last season after trading De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline.

On the other side, this is a big loss for the Pistons as Schroder played a key role for their playoff pursuit last season after they landed him from the Golden State Warriors as part of the Jimmy Butler trade at the deadline.

In 28 games for the Pistons, Schroder averaged 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 37.8% from the field and 30.2% from three-point range.

Schroder played a large role as Cade Cunningham’s backup in Detroit and helped them end their playoff drought.

With him now leaving for Sacramento, Detroit will now either turn to Marcus Sasser who could have a larger role off the bench next season or look for another point guard to replace him in free agency.

Either way, the Pistons are expected to still be busy this summer as they try to take advantage of a weakened Eastern Conference next season.
