Dennis Schroder Sparks Chaos After Wild Sequence Involving LJ Cryer and Draymond Green

Stuff was already heating up pretty late, especially with Dennis Schroder, but nobody expected the fourth quarter to be turned into literal chaos. The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers were battling for control on April 2, when one sequence hijacked the game’s rhythm. It wasn’t anything physical, mind you. On the contrary, it was messier, more emotional, and louder.

And just like that, momentum started swinging (might we add) wildly. A quick burst of whistles, technicals, and reactions turned a routine possession into a full-blown flashpoint. Within seconds, both benches were locked in, and the officials had a situation on their hands that needed review, control, and damage limitation, all at once.

At the center of it all was Schröder. As reported postgame (April 2, 2026, via Inquirer.net and New York Post), Schröder committed a hard mid-air foul on rookie LJ Cryer, later ruled a Flagrant 1 after review. The play sparked instant backlash from Draymond Green, who shoved Schröder and drew a technical.

Moments later, Schröder picked up one himself, while head coach Kenny Atkinson was also hit. Golden State briefly capitalized with a 9-0 run; however, Cleveland regrouped to seal a 118-111 win and punch their 2026 playoff ticket.

Dennis Schröder Adjusting to Reduced Role as Cavaliers Lean on Star Backcourt

Having landed with Cleveland at the February deadline, Schröder has taken a step back. With James Harden and Donovan Mitchell running the show, he’s now firmly a bench piece.

His role, however, has been fluid. Minutes hover around 20 per night, often matchup-dependent. Per March 2026 reports (CBS Sports), his numbers dipped to 5.9 points and 3.8 assists, with scoring consistency becoming an issue.

Still, flashes pop up. On April 2 (ESPN India), Dennis Schröder dropped 12 points and 6 assists vs the Golden State Warriors. However, the flagrant and tech showed the fine line he’s walking.
