Denver Nugget Get Positive Jamal Murray Update Before Memphis Grizzlies Game

The Denver Nuggets have a crucial matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Friday night as they continue to fight for playoff positioning.

Denver currently holds the fourth seed in the Western Conference standings with just two games remaining but a lot can change from now until the final day of the regular season on Sunday.

Of course, the Nuggets are tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the fourth seed while they sit just one game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the third seed.

Denver also sits just one game ahead of the Golden State Warriors, Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves in the standings.

With that in mind, Friday’s game is a massive one for both the Nuggets and Grizzlies and Denver will look to take advantage of Memphis, who is on the second night of a back-to-back after they lost to the Timberwolves on Thursday.

Ahead of Friday’s matchup, the Nuggets received a promising update regarding the availability of their star guard Jamal Murray.

Murray has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable for Friday as he continues to deal with right hamstring inflammation.

This is massive news for the Nuggets as Murray has been sidelined for Denver’s last six games but he may make his return on Friday against the Grizzlies.

Denver has struggled without Murray in their lineup thus far as they have desperately missed his scoring abilities.

This season, the 28-year-old guard is averaging 21.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 47.6% from the field and 39.6% from three-point range.

If Murray is unable to play though, expect Jalen Pickett to continue to fill in for him in the starting lineup while Russell Westbrook should continue to have an increased role off the bench.
