Denver Nuggets Star Fires Serious Message To NBA After Playoff Pain
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Instead of making it far into the Finals this postseason to defend their title, the Denver Nuggets fell in the second round to the Minnesota Timberwolves. As a result, point guard Jamal Murray sent a message to the entire NBA after they were eliminated.

After forcing a Game 7 against the Nuggets, Minnesota won the series by getting the 98-90 win. Jaden McDaniels notched 23 points and six rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns scored the same number of points with 12 rebounds in 39 minutes. Anthony Edwards dropped 16 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, while Rudy Gobert added 13 points and nine boards.

For his part, Nikola Jokic finished the game with 34 points, 19 rebounds, and seven assists. Denver’s starting point guard Jamal Murray tallied 35 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 42 minutes on the court. Unfortunately, the rest of the lineup only scored 21 points, leading the Nuggets to crumble against Minnesota.

The win extended Edwards’ incredible run in the playoffs this year with impressive performances against the Phoenix Suns and Nuggets. On the other hand, Denver ended their season in disappointment after failing to defend their title.

Jamal Murray Drops Serious Message After Denver Nuggets’ Game 7 Loss To Minnesota Timberwolves

After the game, Murray spoke to reporter and shared his thoughts about Denver’s elimination from the playoffs. In a video posted by DNVR Nuggets on X:

During Denver’s series against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, Murray averaged 23.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 7.2 assists. However, those numbers dipped against the Timberwolves to 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. His regression against the Wolves was largely caused by the latter’s intensified effort on defense against him and his teammates.

Now that the season is done for Denver, they’ll surely go back to the drawing board to resolve any issues they have. And if Murray is to be believed, the Nuggets will surely bounce back next season to contend for another championship.
