Denver Nuggets’ Star Reveals Greatest Regret After Game 7 Loss to Minnesota Timberwolves
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Porter Jr. was expected by the Denver Nuggets to play a big role for them in the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves. After all, he punished the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round with his exceptional shooting that proved to be so hard to sustain for him.

It started well for Porter in the second round, as he scored 20 points in Game 1 of that series, albeit in a 106-99 loss at home. He also scored 21 points in Denver’s 117-90 win in Game 3 on the road. But it all went downhill from there for Porter.

Denver Nuggets Star Michael Porter Jr. Feels Sorry for Poor Overall Performance in Timberwolves Series

Porter felt that he let his team down and even apologized to his team after the Nuggets’ 98-90 loss in Game 7 at home at the hands of Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves.

“Michael Porter Jr said he apologized to the team after the game and felt like this loss was on him. He said if he would’ve played the way he knows he can play the Nuggets would’ve won this series,” (via Katy Winge).

In Game 7, Porter shot just 3/12 from the field and finished with seven points. Over the last four games of the Minnesota series, the former Missouri Tigers star generated just 6.3 points on a horrid 28.6 FG%.
