Derrick Rose on performance in Knicks' win: 'I've been dreaming about this moment for a long time'

Derrick Rose played a crucial role in the Knicks' Game 2 win over the Hawks, as the veteran point guard helped New York overcome a 13-point halftime deficit to even the series. After the game, Rose admitted that he had been waiting "a long time" for the chance to prove himself in the postseason.

"Man, I've been dreaming about this moment for a long time," Rose said. "In the past, people said I couldn't play the minutes, they was worried about it, but I knew all along how much hard work I'd put into it."

Rose scored a team-high 26 points while playing 39 minutes in the crucial win. Many assumed Rose's days of being a valuable postseason contributor were behind him after his career was derailed by injuries. But the former MVP showed that he still has what it takes to help his team win when it matters most.

"I’m just very blessed and fortunate to be in this situation," Rose said. "I always live by the five P's: proper preparation prevents poor performance, and I'm always making sure I'm prepared."

Thanks to Rose's preparation, the Knicks won their first playoff game since 2013, and if he continues to play this well, they have a real chance at winning the series.
